Ancient Pocket is van santos, a mythotechnic artist whose interdisciplinary practice explores animist mythologies, ancestral ecologies and dream worlds through living archives, field research and immersive works of art.
Rivers and green worlds are approached as living codices: repositories of ecological memory, cultural epistemologies and unfolding dawns. Ancient Pocket explores the ways waterways, micro-climates, soil and plant communities carry stories of spirit and Indigenous stewardship through textile, drawing, painting, ceramic installation, writing, sound, film, field research and participatory practice. Environmental change, sacred connections and interplanetary resilience connect these landscapes as embodiments of an ancient future: places where ancestral knowledge and ecological imagination converge to envision new relationships between people, place and the living worlds seen and unseen.
